Why I Offer This Work?

Working with trauma, attachment wounds, and high-functioning clients who’ve learned to “hold it all together,” I’ve seen how far therapy can take us — and also where it sometimes reaches its limits.

I began offering psilocybin integration therapy because I deeply believe in the potential for profound, embodied change when therapy and intentional psychedelic experiences are combined.

 

Psilocybin can open new levels of awareness, soften rigid defenses, and make the mind more receptive to transformation — allowing the work we do in EMDR and IFS to reach deeper layers of healing.

This is not a replacement for therapy, but an extension of it — a bridge between insight and integration, between wisdom and real-world change.

 

What Is Psilocybin?

Psilocybin is a naturally occurring compound found in certain species of mushrooms, often called “magic mushrooms.” For centuries, cultures around the world have used these mushrooms in healing and spiritual traditions.

Today, psilocybin is being studied for its potential to support mental health, trauma recovery, and personal growth. Research shows it interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain, creating shifts in perception, mood, and connectivity that can help loosen long-held patterns of fear, rigidity, and emotional avoidance.

In Colorado, psilocybin has been decriminalized for personal use under the Natural Medicine Health Act (NMHA), allowing adults over 21 to cultivate and possess psilocybin for their own use.

What Is Integration Therapy?

Integration is where wisdom becomes change, and change becomes freedom.

While psilocybin experiences can be insightful or even life-changing, the real transformation happens in how those experiences are understood and lived afterward. Integration therapy offers a safe, structured space to process what is coming up as a result of your psilocybin medicine use and anchor it into everyday life.

Integration may include:

  • Exploring the emotions, memories, or insights that arose during your experience

  • Applying lessons to daily life in grounded, practical ways

  • Working through difficult or unresolved feelings

  • Developing practices that support long-term healing and balance

Why Combine EMDR and Psilocybin Integration?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain reprocess unhealed memories and release stored emotional charge. Psilocybin, by enhancing neuroplasticity and reducing overactivation in fear centers like the amygdala, may create an ideal internal state for this work to go deeper.

Early research and case studies suggest that combining EMDR with psilocybin-related integration may help clients:

  • Gain new perspective on old emotional patterns

  • Release fear and overcontrol held in the body

  • Increase emotional flexibility and openness

  • Integrate meaningful insights with compassion and clarity

Today, psilocybin is being studied by scientists and clinicians for its potential to support mental health, personal growth, and wellbeing. Research suggests that psilocybin can create shifts in perception, mood, and awareness by interacting with serotonin receptors in the brain, which may help people gain new perspectives and insights.

In Colorado, psilocybin has been decriminalized for personal use and is being carefully introduced into regulated therapeutic settings through licensed healing centers.

 

While I do not provide or administer psilocybin, I offer integration therapy—a space to process and make meaning of experiences with psilocybin. Integration helps individuals connect the insights from their journey with practical steps toward healing, growth, and lasting change.

Understanding Microdosing vs. Macrodosing

Psilocybin experiences can vary widely depending on the amount taken. Two common approaches are microdosing and macrodosing, each with different purposes and effects.

Microdosing involves taking very small, sub-perceptual amounts of psilocybin—doses that typically do not cause noticeable changes in perception. People who microdose often report subtle benefits, such as improved mood, focus, creativity, or emotional awareness.

Macrodosing, on the other hand, involves a full psychoactive dose that produces significant changes in perception, emotion, and consciousness. These experiences can be intense, deeply introspective, and sometimes challenging, but they may also offer profound insights and shifts in perspective.

Important Note: I do not provide or administer psilocybin, and this information is for educational purposes only. In Colorado, adults 21 and over may legally use psilocybin for personal purposes under state law, but it remains federally illegal.

 

Understanding the difference between microdosing and macrodosing can help you process your experiences thoughtfully and integrate the insights in therapy or personal reflection.
