PSILOCYBIN INTEGRATION THERAPY
in Denver, Colorado

Integration is where wisdom becomes change, and

change becomes freedom.

Making Sense of Transformative Experiences

Some people choose to explore altered states of consciousness on their own — through meditation, breathwork, or, in some cases, with naturally occurring substances such as psilocybin.

When done independently and responsibly, these experiences can sometimes open deep insights, emotions, and questions that are difficult to process alone.

Integration therapy provides a supportive and nonjudgmental space to help you make sense of those experiences.

Together, we explore what surfaced — memories, emotions, realizations, or patterns — and translate those into practical growth and healing in daily life.

If you have independently chosen to participate in a legal and licensed psilocybin experience through a qualified facilitator in Colorado, integration therapy can help you prepare emotionally and mentally for the process. Preparation sessions focus on cultivating intention, grounding skills, and psychological readiness so you can engage the experience with safety, self-awareness, and care.

Why Integration Matters
The psilocybin journey or microdosing itself is just one part of the process. What truly creates lasting change is how you carry those insights into daily living. Integration therapy helps you turn meaningful moments into sustainable transformation.

What Integration Therapy Is (and Is Not)

Integration therapy focuses on:

  • Exploring the meaning and impact of your experiences after they’ve occurred.

  • Supporting emotional regulation, grounding, and nervous system balance.

  • Applying insights toward healthier relationships, clearer values, and lasting change.

  • Using established, evidence-based methods such as EMDR, IFS, and mindfulness-based approaches to process and embody growth safely.

Integration therapy DOES NOT involve:

  • Providing, prescribing, or administering psilocybin or any other psychedelic substance.

  • Guiding, supervising, or facilitating any psychedelic session.

  • Offering medical, psychiatric, or facilitator services under Colorado’s Natural Medicine program.

Why Work with a Trauma-Informed Therapist

Psilocybin and other altered-state experiences can surface old memories or emotions connected to trauma.

A trauma-informed approach helps ensure these experiences are integrated gently and effectively — without retraumatization or overwhelm.

I combine EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment-based methods to help clients stay grounded and develop compassionate understanding toward all parts of themselves, especially those that may have emerged during psychedelic experiences.

I’m also part of The Nowak Society — a Colorado nonprofit devoted to education, ethics, and community dialogue around psychedelic research and integration. Being involved helps me stay connected to current conversations about safely and responsibly bringing these emerging therapies into the mental health field.

Who This Is For

Integration therapy may be helpful if you have:

  • Experienced psilocybin on your own or in a retreat setting and want to understand what came up.

  • Felt emotionally stirred or spiritually disoriented after a psychedelic experience.

  • Realized insights or memories that feel confusing or incomplete.

  • A desire to anchor what you’ve learned into meaningful, everyday change.

Sessions are client-led, paced gently, and focused on integration — not on the psychedelic experience itself.

Ethical and Legal Note:
I am not a licensed facilitator under Colorado’s Natural Medicine program, and I do not provide or oversee the use of psilocybin. All sessions are focused on therapy and integration before or after a client’s personal experiences.

Psilocybin remains a federally controlled Schedule I substance. While certain personal uses have been decriminalized under Colorado law, its administration and facilitation are currently limited to licensed healing centers under the Natural Medicine Health Act (Proposition 122). I am not a licensed facilitator under this program and do not provide, supply, or supervise the use of psilocybin or any other psychedelic substance.

All therapy offered through Denver Attachment Counseling is conventional talk therapy focused on emotional processing and integration of past experiences only.

WHAT IS PSILOCYBIN?

Psilocybin is a naturally occurring compound found in certain species of mushrooms, often called “magic mushrooms.” For centuries, cultures around the world have used these mushrooms in spiritual and healing rituals. Today, psilocybin is being studied by scientists and clinicians for its potential to support mental health, personal growth, and wellbeing. Research suggests that psilocybin can create shifts in perception, mood, and awareness by interacting with serotonin receptors in the brain, which may help people gain new perspectives and insights.

In Colorado, psilocybin has been decriminalized for personal use and is being carefully introduced into regulated therapeutic settings through licensed healing centers.

While I do not provide or administer psilocybin, I offer integration therapy—a space to process and make meaning of experiences with psilocybin. Integration helps individuals connect the insights from their journey with practical steps toward healing, growth, and lasting change.

Understanding Microdosing vs. Macrodosing

Psilocybin experiences can vary widely depending on the amount taken. Two common approaches are microdosing and macrodosing, each with different purposes and effects.

Microdosing involves taking very small, sub-perceptual amounts of psilocybin—doses that typically do not cause noticeable changes in perception. People who microdose often report subtle benefits, such as improved mood, focus, creativity, or emotional awareness.

Macrodosing, on the other hand, involves a full psychoactive dose that produces significant changes in perception, emotion, and consciousness. These experiences can be intense, deeply introspective, and sometimes challenging, but they may also offer profound insights and shifts in perspective.

Important Note: I do not provide or administer psilocybin, and this information is for educational purposes only. In Colorado, adults 21 and over may legally use psilocybin for personal purposes under state law, but it remains federally illegal.

Understanding the difference between microdosing and macrodosing can help you process your experiences thoughtfully and integrate the insights in therapy or personal reflection.
